Who is Alexander Lucas?
Alex Lucas has spent twenty years telling stories that make complicated things matter to the people who need to care about them. That work has taken him from editing conservation films in the field to building full marketing functions for healthcare technology companies, and a lot of interesting territory in between.
His career started in video production, where he worked on films covering everything from open ocean conservation to children's healthcare, with clients ranging from the U.S. Coast Guard and the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management to the Children's Miracle Network and the Peace Parks Foundation. That grounding in visual storytelling has never left him. It shows up today in motion graphics work for companies like Harmony Healthcare IT, in brand strategy for healthtech clients, and in the way he approaches any marketing challenge: start with the human being on the other side of the screen, and work backward from there.
On the marketing leadership side, Alex spent over a decade at the center of B2B healthcare marketing, first as Director of Digital Media and Analytics at Sage Growth Partners (where he helped grow a portfolio of 25+ healthtech clients including Ingenious Med, Inspirata, VigiLanz, and Adfinitas), then as Head of Marketing at Genzeon, where he built the function from the ground up and generated more than $10M in influenced pipeline. He is drawn to organizations whose work has consequences beyond the bottom line, and that instinct extends to a long personal connection to conservation and environmental storytelling. He believes marketing at its best is not just communication. It is a catalyst for change.

Why Geckorion?
Geckorion is a portmanteau: Gecko + Orion.
This combination celebrates three things that I have long held a passion for - the natural world, scientific discovery, and the storytelling power of mythology.
That and when I coined the name I had two geckos as pets and was Latin student in high school. Orion specifically came from three freckles of mine that looked to me like Orion's belt.
The first iteration of my creative work was Mythtaken - a pun based partly on the work by Robert Aspirin, Mythtaken Adventures. This however evolved to my creative persona and handle that I have worked under for more than 25 years: geckorion.
